Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a popular Indian actress, best recognized for her roles in the films Beta Saajan, Hum Aapke Hain Koun and Beta Saajan. Her career began in the late 1980s, and rose to prominence with her performance in the film Tezaab where she starred with an established actor Anil Kapoor. In her next film Dil, Aamir Khan appeared with her. As a child, the Mumbai-born dancer began learning at an early stage. When she was still in high school, she attempted acting, however most of her early movies were unsuccessful. In the end, she was one of the top actresses from Indian film. After marriage, she experienced a career break before reentering the business. Dixit played an important role on Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times to win Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of the awards. Padma Shri is the fourth most prestigious civilian award in India. Also, she is well known for her charitable works.
